Our Inspiration
We became inspired to provide home care and care management services due to our own experience with aging grandparents, and our own parents growing older while living very far away from us. Distance and our demanding work schedules have prevented us from physically caring for our own aging family members, but we have been very lucky to have a supportive family network nearby our parents.
Duanni’s grandfather lived to 103 years, and David’s grandparents lived well into their late 90s thanks to loving family caregivers surrounding them in their homes. Others may not be so lucky. We have seen friends and colleagues forced to leave the workforce or greatly reduce working hours to care for their parents. We are inspired to provide respite and care services for their loved ones so working professionals don’t have to bear the burden alone.
Home care and care management is a unique service, and most people know very little about it until it becomes urgent. Typically there’s a scramble to find a high-quality solution—quickly—for a loved one or for oneself. A dizzying list of options are suddenly presented by a discharge nurse; or maybe a parent finally confesses that some help is long overdue; or an accident serves as a wake-up call that you cannot provide care alone. Sometimes a loved one who needs help lives far away and you simply cannot be there to help.
